Our priorities are very clear: we want to protect your nectar, get it to you in a way that is both cost effective and visually appealing AND do it in a way that has the least impact on the environment. So after a TON of research and market experience we chose these pouches for our nectar because they meet all of our criteria (and hopefully yours) in the best possible way. What does that mean?
Understanding the materials we use.
Our packaging is made from laminated layers of barrier film, these layers are engineered to keep the contents fresher for longer. Without these different layers working together, the pouches wouldn't have the strength to stand, and the contents would go stale or spoil eventually. Picture a plastic grocery bag or even a brown paper bag -- how well would that work for our nectar?
Will these bio-degrade in a landfill?
No, the layers that protect our nectar also prevent it from breaking down completely in a landfill.
So what does that mean?
It means recycle!!! Our bags ARE recyclable and landfill friendly, meaning they CAN be thrown away in the trash (many plastics should not); or if discarded in recycling bins, they can be ground up and used for other types of plastics. ALL plastics -- stand up pouches, grocery bags and milk cartons -- are grouped and ground together. The end result is called REGRIND or FILLER and can be used to make plastic park benches, toys, car bumpers, parking lot stops, and more.
Recyclable...ABSOLUTELY!
Biodegradable…NOPE, but that doesn’t mean we won’t keep looking for solutions that can keep the nectar fresh and keep our planet green.

Food Safety Material & BPA Free Letter of Guarantee
Our pouches are made from multiple layers of barrier film. Each layer serves a purpose:
- odor or moisture protection
- general barrier performance
- heat-sealing.
Together all these layers are laminated/bonded together which create the stability for the pouch to stand effectively while protecting the product inside.
FOOD GRADE
The inner-most layer is made with FDA, food grade film, LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene). This layer is what comes in direct contact with whatever product goes into the pouch. Keep in mind; this is made from resin (tiny pellets). We buy only FDA approved LLDPE resin.
The finished product is in roll form as LLDPE. Because we started with FDA food grade resin, in our very own controlled environment, we certify that this is food grade safe.
BPA
From our raw materials, through our production process and at all steps involved in the production & handling of our film for all the flexible packaging we produce, we confirm that our product and process has not been contaminated by Bisphenol A (BPA). Our products comply with specific migration limits of the plastic directive 2007/19/EC. (EU) No 10/2011 and Directive 2001/19/EC on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs or any other product in contact with our packaging.
